They are responsible for reviewing and approving new information technology (IT) alternatives to increase company productivity. One of the information technology officer’s main responsibilities is evaluating data needs and security strategies. They also complete detailed reports about security requirements, suggest possible changes, participate in end user training sessions, and create coaching opportunities for junior staff. Information technology officers also prepare documentation for future reference among the IT team.
